Resuming broken uploads / downloads

How many times you was disappointed when your dial-up connection failed during downloading a large file via the Internet? I think the answer is quite simple - it repeatedly happens with everyone, who uses the unreliable communication. All we value the time and want to avoid this problem by using the reliable software products.

Since the version 1.50 we considerably have improved the program's interaction with the remote hosts via the Internet. First of all the management of dial-up connections have been built-in. We designed the new downloading / uploading algorithms, which operate more reliably at the unstable dialup conections. We tested this algorithms on the unreliable and unstable communications and received good results!

If you take a look at the program's features, which implement interaction with the remote hosts such as : FTP Backup; Sending Backups via e-Mail, then you can notice the similar parameters. They are:

DialUp The name of the system DialUp schortcut for modem users
Retries The maximum numbers of resuming broken operation
Pause The pause (sec.) before the next resuming of broken operation

All algorithms work equally in the critical situations. If DialUp connection fails for any reasons then the program:

  • does a pause;
  • restores the connection;
  • tries to resume upload / download of the current file from the broken point (if possible).
The program repeats these steps "Retries" times until the download / upload is completed.
